My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 2: 15-20
THE DEPARTURE OF THE ANGELIC CHOIR
1. The announcing angel had proclaimed the birth of the Saviour.
2. The angelic choir had sung a grand song of praise.
3. They departed from the shepherds and returned to heaven.
THE RESPONSE OF THE SHEPHERDS
1. They made a good and appropriate response
a. To go to Bethlehem.
b. To see the Baby that had just been born.
c. They were grateful that the Lord had made this known to them (Luke 2:15).
2. At the stable
a. They found Mary and Joseph.
b. They saw the Babe lying in a manger.
c. It was just as the angel had informed them (Luke 2:16).
3. Further response
a. They could not keep this good news to themselves.
b. They began to “make widely known the saying”.
c. This saying was with reference to “The Child” (Luke 2:17).
i. Their focus was not the announcing angel.
ii. Nor the song the angels sang.
iii. Their focus was on “The Child” (The Saviour) {Luke 2:17}.
4. People who heard them
They marvelled at what they had heard!
