Text: Luke 12: 4-5
SPEAKING AS FRIENDS
1. The Lord Jesus extended and held multiple relationships.
a. He was Saviour.
b. He was Lord.
c. He was Teacher.
2. He held out Friendship too.
“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!”
Luke 12:4-5
a. He called His Disciples “Friends”.
b. This does not however diminish His role as Lord and Saviour.
3. The Fear of Man
a. The Lord Jesus knew that His disciples and the multitudes feared:
i. The scribes
ii. The chief priests
iii. The Sanhedrin Council (Religious leaders)
b. They brought fear to many hearts.
i. They threatened to excommunicate.
ii. They even used the threat of death.
c. The Lord Jesus urged them not to fear those who can only kill the body.
d. They can’t go beyond killing the body!
4. The Fear of God
a. All should fear God.
b. God can kill the body.
c. He has the power and authority to cast a person into hell.
d. Only God has such power! Thus, he is to be feared.
e. The fear of God will dispel the fear of Man.

2.祂也伸出友谊之手
“我的朋友,我对你们说,那杀身体以后不能再做什么的,不要怕他们。 我要指示你们当怕的是谁,当怕那杀了以后又有权柄丢在地狱里的。我实在告诉你们:正要怕他!”
