My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 18: 35-43
THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
1. The Lord Jesus Christ still had much to do each day.
a. There were the multitudes to reach and to teach.
b. There were the Disciples to correct and to train.
c. Then there were the individuals who need healing.
2. There were personal issues that He must prepare for:
a. His suffering.
b. His death.
c. These issues did not affect the way He ministered.
THE HEALING OF A BLIND MAN
“Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’ Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’
So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ He said, ‘Lord, that I may receive my sight.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.”Luke 18:35-43
1. The Plight of the blind man was very obvious.
a. He was miserable, not being able to see.
b. He cried out to the Lord Jesus when He was passing by.
2. The reaction of the multitude and of the Disciples.
a. The Lord Jesus was surrounded by people.
b. The Disciples were with the Lord.
c. They did not respond appropriately to the blind man.
d. They told him to be quiet! That was hardly helpful!
3. The Response of the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. His response was amazing and wonderful.
b. He stopped to speak to the blind man.
c. He commended the blind man for his faith.
d. The reward of his faith in the Lord was the regaining of his sight.
