THE SUFFERING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
1. This was foretold by the Lord.
“He must suffer many things…”
Luke 17:25
2. His words were being fulfilled in the house of the high priest.
A DESCRIPTION OF THE ABUSE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
“Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him. And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying, ‘Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?’ And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him.”
Luke 22:63-65
1. There was physical abuse.
a. They held the Lord Jesus.
b. They beat Him.
c. They struck Him on the face.
2. There was verbal abuse.
a. They mocked the Lord Jesus.
b. They blindfolded Him,
i. They struck Him.
ii. They challenged Him to identify the assailant.
iii. They ridiculed Him by calling upon Him to prophesy.
3. Uncalled for behaviour
a. The abuse took place in the home of the high priest.
b. The assailants were people associated with the high priest.
c. They were identified as “chief priests and elders”.
d. Such uncalled-for behaviour reflects:
i. Arrogance
ii. Hatred
iii. Evil
iv. Depth of sinfulness

i. 他们打祂

3. 不正当的行为
a. 虐待行为发生在大祭司的家里
b. 袭击者是与大祭司有关系的人
c. 他们被称为是“祭司长和长老”
