My Song In The Night (Vital Doctrines)
我夜间的歌曲《重要教义-救恩》
Text: Galatians 4: 19-20
MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“My little children, for whom I labour in birth again until Christ is formed in you, I would like to be present with you now and to change my tone; for I have doubts about you.”
Galatians 4:19-20
DOUBTS EXPRESSED
1. Paul’s regard for the Galatians.
a. He saw them as “little children”.
b. The reasons:
i. They were gullible.
ii. They were easily led astray.
iii. They had been badly deceived by false teachers.
iv. Some did not even realise this reality.
2. The imagery of “a mother in labour”.
a. This image was applied too.
b. In the ancient days, the mother is unsure:
i. If the baby would be delivered safely.
ii. Or if the baby would be still-born.
3. Questions in the back of Paul’s mind.
a. Did the Galatians really believe in the Lord Jesus?
b. Was their faith genuine in the first place?
4. The real believer:
a. The Lord Jesus Christ is formed in the heart of the believer.
b. But there were disturbing indications that the Lord Jesus was not really in the Galatians.
i. Faith is compared to a little baby that is being formed in the womb.
ii. This Faith keeps growing until it is fully formed.
iii. This Faith-baby may suffer a miscarriage.
iv. Paul was deeply concerned about the Faith of the Galatians.
5. A wish expressed:
a. To be among the Galatians.
i. To help them be sure of their Faith.
ii. To help them deliver their Faith-baby.
b. To change his tone in his writing.
i. In this letter, Paul expressed doubts about the Faith of the Galatians.
ii. He wished he could change his tone to a more positive one.

经文:加拉太书 4
“我小子啊,我为你们再受生产之苦,直等到基督成形在你们心里。 我巴不得现今在你们那里,改换口气,因我为你们心里作难。”
《加拉太书 4:19-20》
