Text: Galatians 5: 9-10

MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION

“A little leaven leavens the whole lump. I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.”

Galatians 5:9-10

THE DANGER HIGHLIGHTED

1. The false teachers were devious in their efforts to draw people into their circles.

a. They soft-pedalled their wrong teachings
b. They made their false teachings appealing and attractive.
c. Only when they have taken the bait, do they reel in their victims.

2. Paul called the false teachings “leaven”.

a. Leaven is simply yeast.
b. A little yeast is enough to leaven the whole lump of dough.
c. The effects of the leaven are significant.
d. From the small amount of false teachings, the Galatians became adversely affected.

3. Paul’s word of encouragement.

a. He expressed confidence in the Galatians.
b. He believed that the true believers would be able to do the following:
i. Discern truth from error.
ii. Decide that they would reject false teachings and false teachers.
iii. Determine to return to the Lord and to the truth they had believed.
iv. That they would no longer be uncertain in their minds.

4. What about the false teachers?

a. The false teachers had troubled the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
b. These would have to bear the Judgment that God would pronounce on them.
c. If they chose to continue with their wrong-doing, they would have to bear the consequences too.
d. The false teachers have not won the war, though they may succeed to win some battles.

a. 他们刻意淡化错误教训的严重性

b. 他们使自己的错误教训富有吸引力

c. 只有当鱼饵上了钩，假师傅才卷入这些受害者

2. 保罗称这些错误教训为“面酵”

a. 面酵就是酵母

b. 一点酵母就足以使整个面团发起来

c. 面酵显然有巨大的影响力

d. 加拉太人因一点错误的教训，就受到严重的影响

3. 保罗鼓励的话

a. 他表达了对加拉太人的信心

b. 他相信真正的信徒会做以下的事物：

i. 辨别真理与谬误

ii. 决定他们会拒绝假师傅及错误的教训

iii. 坚定回到主和他们曾相信的真理

iv. 他们心里不会再不确定

4. 假师傅又如何？

a. 假师傅搅扰了主耶稣基督的教会

b. 他们必面对上帝将宣告的审判

c. 如果他们选择继续犯错，就必须承担后果

d. 假师傅虽然成功赢了一些战斗，但他们并没有赢取这场战争
