Text: Colossians 1:23

MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – CHRISTOLOGY

“If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”

Colossians 1:23

TO CONTINUE IN THE FAITH

1. The Colossian Christians had begun so well.

a. They found faith in the Lord Jesus.
b. They were bearing fruit.
c. They had learned to display the fruit of love.

2. The further teachings of the Apostle Paul.

a. Knowledge of God the Father.
b. Knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
c. Knowledge of God’s great plan of salvation (Colossians 1).

3. The challenge was to treasure this new-found faith in the Lord.

a. To continue in the faith:
i. If the faith is genuine.
ii. It is logical to continue in the faith.
b. Good goals to have:
i. To be grounded in the faith.
ii. To be steadfast.
iii. To ensure that they are not moved away from the Gospel.
c. Paul had seen people move away from the Gospel.
d. The following were the common reasons why believers falter and fail:
i. Due to a lack of knowledge.
ii. Due to being misled by false teachers.
iii. Due to suffering for the faith.
iv. Due to temptations from the world.

4. A minister of the gospel.

a. The word “minister” simply means “a servant”.
b. The gospel Paul preached is the same one proclaimed by all the prophets.
c. God has given this gospel to be preached to everyone under heaven.

1. 歌罗西的基督徒有很好的开始

a. 他们在主耶稣里找到了信心

b. 他们有结果子

c. 他们学会了展现仁爱的果子

2. 保罗之后的教训

a. 有关天父上帝的知识

b. 有关主耶稣的知识

c. 有关上帝伟大的救赎计划《歌罗西书1》

3. 挑战在于珍惜在主里初找到的信心

a. 在所信的道上恒心

i. 如果信心是真实的

ii. 在所信的道上恒心是符合逻辑的

b. 好的目标：

i. 在信心上根基稳固

ii. 坚定不移

iii. 确保不被引动失去福音的盼望

c. 保罗目睹了很多人失去福音的盼望

d. 以下是信徒动摇及失败的原因：

i. 由于缺乏知识

ii. 由于被假师傅误导

iii. 由于因信心而受难

iv. 由于世上的诱惑

4. 福音的执事

a. “执事”指的是“仆人”

b. 保罗传的福音与所有先知所传讲的一样

c. 上帝给予这福音是给普天下万人听的
