"Let them give glory to the LORD"

Text: Isaiah 42:12

GIVING GLORY TO THE LORD

The LORD is deserving of glory. All who truly know the LORD cannot help but give to Him both praise and glory!

“Let them give glory to the LORD,
And declare His praise in the coastlands.
The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies.”
Isaiah 42:12-13

1. Giving glory to idols.

a) Idolatrous practices were prevalent in the ancient world.

b) Israel was led astray from the worship of the LORD to giving praise to idols.

2. The challenge was given to:

a) Israel

b) The coastlands

c) Give to the LORD:

i) Glory

ii) Praise

3. One special reason was highlighted:

a) The LORD would come.

i) “As a mighty man”

ii) “As a man of war”

b) He would come with great zeal.

c) He would come with a mighty shout of victory.

d) He would come to the rescue of His people.

e) He would prevail over all His enemies.

For all that the LORD would do for all who believe, there ought to be praise and glory given to Him!
