INTRODUCTION

1. Seeking God earnestly in prayer

2. Crying out to God sincerely

PRAYING TO GOD AS THE ROCK

1 To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock:
Do not be silent to me,
Lest, if You are silent to me,
I become like those who go down to the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my supplications
When I cry to You,
When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

Psalm 28:1-2

1. Crying out to God

2. Lifting up of the hands as a sign of Supplication

3. Offering Supplications to God

4. Fear of God’s Silence

THE WICKED

3 Do not take me away with the wicked
And with the workers of iniquity,
Who speak peace to their neighbours,
But evil is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their deeds,
And according to the wickedness of their endeavours;
Give them according to the work of their hands;
Render to them what they deserve.

5 Because they do not regard the works of the LORD,
Nor the operation of His hands,
He shall destroy them
And not build them up.

Psalm 28:3-5

1. The Wicked Described

a) Workers of iniquity
b) Evil in their heart
c) Wicked endeavours
d) They have no regard for the LORD

2. The Judgment of the LORD

a) They will receive their just recompense
b) They will be judged
c) They will be destroyed ultimately

BLESSING OF THE LORD

6 Blessed be the LORD,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplications!

7 The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:6-7

1. For hearing prayers/ supplications

2. For His protection

3. For giving strength

4. God is to be greatly praised

A PRAYER TO THE LORD FOR HIS PEOPLE

8 The LORD is their strength,
And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.

9 Save Your people,
And bless Your inheritance;
Shepherd them also,
And bear them up forever.

Psalm 28:8-9

1. The LORD and His Anointed

a) Anointed servant
b) Anointed people

2. That God would be

a) Their strength
b) Their saving refuge

3. That God would also do the following:

a) Save His people
b) Bless His inheritance
c) Shepherd them
d) Bear them up forever

OUR CHALLENGE

1. To seek God earnestly

2. To believe deeply

3. To expect humbly

4. To rejoice and praise God gratefully
