THE KINGDOM OF GOD
The prophets proclaimed the Messiah’s coming;
They looked forward to glorious blessings.
The time of prophecy was now fulfilled;
The Messiah had come to do God’s Will.
He had come to speak about God’s Kingdom;
He had come to offer Man wonderful freedom.
Man need not be enslaved by wicked sin;
The Saviour had come, their souls to win.
The Gospel of the Kingdom was proclaimed;
The Messiah had come in the LORD’s name.
He had come to invite the poor and lowly;
His invitation was to be received gratefully!
The Lord Jesus saw the need to train people;
They would begin as humble disciples.
He would help them to become fishers of men;
The Gospel message would be entrusted to them.
