IF ANYONE HAS EARS TO HEAR

HOW WE RESPOND TO THE LORD

It is vital we consider how we are to respond to the Lord as He speaks to our hearts. We are ultimately responsible for how we respond to His word.

21 Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 

22 For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 

23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 

25 For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”     Mark 4:21-25

  1. The Lord’s ministry of preaching

a) It is compared to a lamp that is lit

i)   It is put on a lampstand

ii)  It cannot but shine

b) Revelation 

i)   Not only would God’s word be revealed

ii)  The heart would also be exposed

iii) All would come to light

  1. Relevant and Important

a) We must use our ears better to hear and to respond

b) We must take heed of what we hear

c) How we respond to the Word of God has deep implications

LET US BE GREATLY CHALLENGED

Let us be challenged to listen well and to respond positively. Greater would be our level of comprehension. Greater would our faith become if we respond well to the Lord and His word.
