I WILL UPHOLD YOU
Israel had fallen to the Assyrians;
And Judah to the Babylonians.
Many were in deep despair;
Their captors did not care!
The LORD sent a great message;
His word brought fresh courage.
This was a word all needed to hear;
This brought much-needed cheer.
The LORD promised to be with Israel;
They would always remain His people.
He would be with them amidst danger;
He would not retain His holy anger.
“I will uphold you with my righteous right hand;”
These reflect the LORD’s deep and profound plan.
The LORD would give strength in our weakness;
He would uphold us in His great faithfulness.
