MY RIGHT HAND

Text: Isaiah 48

THE HAND OF GOD

The LORD’s hand is to be greatly appreciated. In this prophetic word God reminded Israel of His mighty right hand at work.

12 “Listen to Me, O Jacob,
And Israel, My called:
I am He, I am the First,
I am also the Last.

13 Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth,
And My right hand has stretched out the heavens;
When I call to them,
They stand up together.

14 “All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear!
Who among them has declared these things?
The Lord loves him;
He shall do His pleasure on Babylon,
And His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.

15 I, even I, have spoken;
Yes, I have called him,
I have brought him, and his way will prosper.     Isaiah 48:12-15

 

  1. The person of the LORD

a) He identified Himself in a special way

b) “I am the First; I am also the last”

  1. The hand of God

a) He laid the foundation of the earth

b) He also stretched the heavens with His mighty right hand

  1. God’s relationship with His people

a) He has called them

b) He has declared His love for all who have heard Him

c) He has redeemed (“bought”) them

d) He will cause them to prosper

OUR RESPONSE

  1. Let us seek to fathom the Lord’s hand in life and ministry
  1. May we draw much encouragement as we meditate on His word of promise
