YOUTH WORSHIP SERVICE 31 August 24
TITLE: FACE TO FACE Exodus 33:1-11
STILL SENSING THE LORD’S ANGER
1. The LORD spoke of how His presence would not be with the people of Israel Exodus 33:1-3
2. He told Moses to depart Exodus 33:2-3
a. He spoke of the land that He had promised to the patriarch
b. He will send His Angel ahead of the people of Israel
c. He will drive out all the enemies out of the land
d. But He will not go up with them
e. He was obviously still angry with the people
3. The people realised what that meant Exodus 33:4-6
a. They recognised it as bad news
b. They mourned
c. They did not put on their ornaments
SETTING UP A TEMPORARY MEETING PLACE WITH GOD
1. Having a place to meet with God Exodus 33:7-8
a. Moses pitched his tent outside the camp
b. Far from the camp
d. This temporary tent was called the tabernacle of meeting
2. The LORD’s presence would be with Moses Exodus 33:9
a. When Moses entered the tabernacle
b. The pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle
c. The LORD would speak with Moses
THE LORD TALKING TO MOSES FACE TO FACE
“And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshipped, each man in his tent door. So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”
Exodus 33:9-11
1. A closeness of relationship with God
