DEFINITION OF “THE END TIMES”

The Biblical teaching about the End Times is actually a long period of time. It begins with the 1st Coming of the Lord Jesus to His Second Coming.

A GOOD WORD OF ADMONITION

The Apostle Peter wrote to encourage the Church at large with challenging words to make full use of our life on earth.

7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 

8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 

9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 

10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 

11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.     1 Peter 4:7-11

a) We need to understand the End Times teaching

b) We need to cultivate an “End Times Mindset”

2. Features of this Mindset

a) To be serious minded

b) To be watchful in prayer

c) To cultivate a fervent love for the brethren

d) To be hospitable without grumbling

e) To be good stewards of the grace of God given to us

f) To exercise our spiritual gifts to the blessing of all

APPROPRIATE RESPONSE

Let us seek to respond well to this word of admonition.

1. Let us live with an even greater sense of purpose

2. Let us live dynamically for the Lord

3. Let us look forward to the Return of the Lord Jesus
