INCREASED ITS JOY

Text: Isaiah 9
10 November 2024

SO MUCH TO THANK GOD FOR

In this prophecy, God promised that He would increase the joy of His people. Joy is a blessing that must not be taken for granted!

3 You have multiplied the nation

And increased its joy;

They rejoice before You

According to the joy of harvest,

As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

4 For You have broken the yoke of his burden

And the staff of his shoulder,

The rod of his oppressor,

As in the day of Midian.

5 For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,

And garments rolled in blood,

Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.     Isaiah 9:3-5

  1. Joy is found

a) When war is no more

b) When victory is secured

c) When the wicked enemies are defeated

i)  The yoke of burden is removed

ii) The staff/rod of the oppressor

d) When the war implements are burned 

e) War brings nothing but pain and sorrow

  1. Joy described

a) When a nation continues to grow

b) When a farmer has a great harvest

c) When victors divide the spoil

JOY IS A GIFT FROM GOD

Let us treasure this gift of joy from the Lord. Thank God for His matchless grace and mercy. May the Joy of Christmas be found!
