Day 114 – Psalm 16

“You will show me the path of life…” Psalm 16:11

A WONDERFUL CONCLUSION

What a stirring conclusion David penned in the following text. What a beautiful way to conclude a golden psalm.

“You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forever more.”
Psalm 16:11

1. “You will show me the path of life”

a) How wonderful it is to be able to see a clear path of life on earth.
b) Not many can see this “path of life”.

2. “In Your presence is fullness of joy”

a) Imagine being able to stand in the Presence of God!
b) This is made possible only because of our “imputed righteousness”.
c) Standing in the Presence of God will surely result in “fullness of joy”.

3. “At Your right hand are pleasures forever more”

a) Pleasures are things that God desires to give to His children.
b) Life on earth
i) It may be tinged with some sadness
ii) But this sadness can be offset by the pleasures God gives.
c) The pleasures of God
i) They are meant to be permanent.
ii) They are wholesome pleasures.

EMULATING A GOOD EXAMPLE

Let us emulate the example of the psalmist David. Let us also say to the Lord:

“You are my Lord…
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance…”
Psalm 16:2,5
