"And so all Israel will be saved..."

Text: Romans 11:26

GOD WILL KEEP HIS COVENANT PROMISE YET

Paul had all along expressed his belief that God had not forsaken His people, Israel (Romans 11:1). Israel’s problem was the sin of unbelief that led them to reject Jesus as the Messiah of God! Would there be a time when Israel would return to God and be saved? To answer this question, let us ponder what Paul wrote in the following text.

“And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sin.'”
Romans 11:26-27

1. All Israel will be saved

a) This does not mean that every individual Israelite according to the flesh will be saved.

b) The significance of this statement:-

i) God is not done with Israel yet!

ii) God will bring salvation to those who are Israel (in the spirit).

2. The Deliverer will come out of Zion

a) He will deliver His people.

b) He will take away ungodliness… their sin.

i) This would be a reference to salvation.

ii) This would mean that the sin of unbelief (and all sins) would be dealt with.

c) He will remember His covenant.

i) God has never reneged on His Covenant promises.

ii) He has been faithful to every Covenant promise made.

iii) He would fulfill yet another promise!

“‘The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those
Who turn from transgression in Jacob,’ says the LORD”
Isaiah 59:20
