TURNING TO GOD

It was in such desperate times that David turned to God with all the faith he could muster.

“O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You:
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.”
Psalm 63:1

1. Establishing faith

David affirmed faith in God! He may be going through a very turbulent time, but his faith in God remained intact! The Lord was ever his God!

2. Seeking God

It was logical that David would seek God! His faith in God drew him to seek the Lord. The circumstances in his life gave added motivation. There was deep and genuine thirst for God.

3. A dry and thirsty land

The wilderness of Judah was harsh and forbidding. Water was hard to find. There was a strong physical thirst for water, but where would he find water easily?

David’s quest to find God was also far from easy. Where could he find God? He desired to find the Lord with all his heart, but finding Him seemed as hard as finding water in the vast wilderness of Judah.
