“He will save the children of the needy…” Psalm 72:4b

AN OFT-NEGLECTED SEGMENT

One of the most neglected segments of society in the ancient days would be “children”. Here is a wonderful statement of commitment to care for children.

“He will save the children of the needy…”
Psalm 72:4b

1. He will save the children

a) Children need saving.
i) Salvation (deliverance) from wicked people who seek to do them harm.
ii) Deliverance from parents who have no commitment to care for them.
iii) Deliverance from a fate that would imperil them.
b) Children have few who would champion their cause.
i) Solomon as king would champion the cause of the children.
ii) He would bring all the resources of the kingdom to ensure a good future for the children.
iii) To neglect children would be an unthinkable option.

2. The children of the needy

a) The needy struggle so much just to survive and eke out a living.
b) They are often unable to care for their children as wealthy parents are able.
c) Children of the needy are often the hardest hit in a society.

NATURAL CONCERN FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE NEEDY

There ought to be natural concern for the children of the needy if a nation is founded on the right principles:-
