“Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.”

ii) It is His right as God.
b) The judgment of God
i) It is for the sake of the poor.
ii) It is to be delivered in the name of true justice.
c) Divine Justice as an Example.
i) The judges of the earth need to learn about true justice.
ii) God’s judgment of the earth would afford a clear example of how justice is to be upheld.

INHERITANCE OF THE EARTH

Who really owns the earth? The Scriptures remind us time and again that the earth belongs to its Creator. In this text, God is described as the One who inherits the earth. The earth is the Lord’s by virtue of His being the Creator. The earth is also the Lord’s by virtue of being its Redeemer. God has every right to exercise His right as the Divine Judge of the whole earth.
