Day 224 – Psalm 83
“For behold, Your enemies make a tumult…” Psalm 83:2a
ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE GOD
Asaph sought to engage God in prayer in Psalm 83. His main quest seemed to be that of causing God to be moved to respond to his prayers.
1. The first attempt
a) This was a direct appeal to God to respond.
b) He just cried out to the Lord as “God”.
c) However this approach did not elicit the desired response from God.
d) Asaph was not discouraged; he pressed on in his prayer efforts.
2. The second attempt
This may be found in the following text.
“For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
And those who hate You have lifted up their head.”
Psalm 83:2
