“O LORD, how manifold are Your works!” Psalm 104:24a

STANDING IN AWE OF THE MANIFOLD WORKS OF GOD

The more the psalmist ponders the works of God the more he feels drawn to bless His name.

“O LORD, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions-
This great and wide sea,
In which are innumerable teeming things,
Living things both small and great.
There the ships sail about;
There is that Leviathan
Which You have made to play there.”
Psalm 104:24-26

1. The works of God

a) They are manifold.
b) They manifest the wisdom of God.
c) The earth is full of all God’s creations… His possessions!

2. The Sea

a) Reference to the oceans.
b) Though they are called by different names, they are all part of that “great and wide sea”.

3. The creatures that live in the sea

a) Innumerable teeming sea creatures.
b) Living things (unnamed).
i) Small living things (plankton)
ii) Great living things (sharks)

4. Leviathan

a) This is a huge sea creature.
b) No name was assigned to this sea creature. (Large creatures could also include the great whales.)
