KNOWLEDGE OF GOD REVEALED

How may we know what God is like? The psalmist unabashedly declared that his knowledge of God was drawn from the Scriptures.

“Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it abides.
They continue this day according to Your ordinances,
For all are Your servants.”
Psalm 119:89-91

1. The nature of God’s word

a) It is firmly settled in heaven.
b) It is unchangeable and eternal in its nature.

2. The Attributes of God

a) He is faithful to all generations.
b) The Lord is the Faithful Creator and He has created all to serve His purposes.
c) He has established the earth from the beginning.
d) All that God has created continue to abide according to His ordinances.

3. The Relationship between God and His word

a) The word of God comes from the Lord.
b) His word and His being are inter-related.
c) The Laws of God reflects who He is.

4. Special Features of the Laws of God

a) They will last forever.
b) They are alive (Hebrews 4:12).
c) They have power and authority as well.
