#4 FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN
Jesus had a vision for the work entrusted to Him,
Lovingly He would reach out, desirous of many souls to win.
Village after village He saw great multitudes of people in desperate need,
He knew that He must embark on training disciples vigorously indeed.
He began to call humble fishermen to leave their all to follow Him,
He would touch hearts with a deep pure love, and open eyes that were dim.
The task He had set for Himself and for His disciples was daunting to all of them,
He promised that by the end of His training, they would become good fishers of men.
The people He chose was a motley group and that caused eyebrows to be raised,
These were not scholars nor noble people whose ancestry may be traced.
These were ordinary people but they had an extraordinary Teacher close at hand,
He would personally instruct and guide them lovingly to the very end.
The task of the disciples was certainly not an easy one,
They would have to learn as much as possible from morn till set of sun.
They studied the teachings of Jesus and also carefully noted how He lived before all of them,
They followed Him closely and though there were mistakes, they finally became good fishers of men.

#36 FIVE LOAVES AND TWO FISH
Five thousand men had followed Jesus they were now hungry for some food to eat,
They forgot to bring food for they wanted to see Him perform miraculous feats.
Jesus asked His disciples to consider how they would feed the multitude,
They felt pressured and wondered how Jesus could speak with such latitude.
Even if they spent all the money they had with them it would not be enough to feed everyone!
A little boy kindly offered his lunch of five loaves and two fish, but that’s just enough for one!
Jesus took the loaves and gave the young lad a brilliant smile that warmed his heart,
Never would he forget that smile on Jesus’ face till from this earth he departs.
Jesus instructed His disciples to sit the multitude in smaller groups for He would give them lunch,
The disciples wondered how Jesus would resolve the problem, fearing that He would be undone.
The Master took the fives loaves and the two fish and gave thanks to God for the food,
A mighty miracle took place there and then for the loaves and fish began to multiply as they looked.
Baskets were used to carry the loaves and the fish to the hungry multitude,
What everyone saw that afternoon changed the most cynical of attitudes.
Who was this Man who wielded so much power to feed a huge crowd of hungry men?
Could He be as great as Moses who fed the children of Israel all the way to the Promised Land?
The thousands were fed and the disciples began the collection of the remnant bread and fish,
Looking into details was something that Jesus wanted His disciples to accomplish.
Twelve full baskets of loaves and fish were collected from the multitude,
They must not throw away food that Jesus gave for that would be a bad attitude.
There was much more to this miracle than the multitudes had seen with their eyes,
They had stood in the Presence of the Man who said that He could give them eternal life.
Sadly many only saw His power to provide food to satisfy their physical earthly needs,
If only they had faith and spiritual sight they would have seen that Jesus was the Bread of Life indeed.
Inspiration: Mark 6:35-44
