(I) THE JEHU DYNASTY
1. Jehu – 28 years (2 Kings 10:36)
“Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel up to the fourth generation” 2 Kings 10:30
2. Joash – 16 years (2 Kings 13:10)

3. Jeroboam II 41 years 2 Kings 14:23
2 Kings 14:23-29
4. Zechariah – 6 months (2 Kings 15:8)
2 Kings 15:8-12
a) Did evil (2 Kings 15:9)
b) Did not depart from the sin of Jeroboam (2 Kings 15:9)
5. Coup staged against him by Shallum son of Jabesh (2 Kings 15:10)
a) Conspiracy
b) Struck and killed him openly
(II) UNSTABLE TIMES IN ISRAEL
1. Shallum took the throne from Zechariah
He reigned only one month (2 Kings 15:13)
2. Menahem the son of Gadi assassinated Shallum
He reigned 10 years (2 Kings 15:17)
3. Features of his reign
a) Attacked the city of Tiphsah (2 Kings 15:16a)
b) He was resisted
c) He became vicious and killed many pregnant women (2 Kings 15:16)
d) He did evil and practised the idolatry of Jeroboam (2 Kings 15:178a)
4. Threat from Assyria
a) King Pul from Assyria threatened war (2 Kings 15:19)
b) Menahem sought alliance with Pul at the price of 100 talents of silver (2 Kings 15:19)
c) Extracted the money from Israel (2 Kings 15:20)
5. Reign of Pekahiah, son of Menahem
a) Reigned for only 2 years (2 Kings 15:23)
b) He did evil (2 Kings 15:24)
6. Pekah the son of Remaliah assassinated Pekahiah
a) Seized the throne (2 Kings 15:25)
b) He reigned 20 years (2 Kings 15:27)
c) Did evil (2 Kings 15:28)
d) Threat of Assyrian king, Tiglath Pileser
Invaded Israel and took many captives (2 Kings 15:29)
7. Hoshea the son of Elah mounted a coup and killed Pekah son of Remaliah (2 Kings 15:30)
(III) REIGN OF JOTHAM IN JUDAH
1. Jotham was the son of Uzziah who was struck by leprosy (2 Kings 15:32)
2. He reigned for 16 years (2 Kings 15:33)
3. Features of his reign
a) He did what was right according to the model of uzziah (2 Kings 15:34)
b) He did not remove the high places (2 Kings 15:35)
4. Special problems
a) Rezin, king of Syria (2 Kings 15:37)
b) Pekah, king of Israel (2 Kings 15:37)
