  1. The Scribes and the Pharisees

a) The scribes represented the religious scholars
b) The Pharisees represented the righteous
c) Sometimes they are called “The Jews”           John 10:31

a) They may have mastered the art of polite speaking
b) But behind their polite words they were “demanding” a sign from the Lord Jesus
