a) Wayside

i) No chance of growth

ii) Seeds eaten up by the birds of the air

b) Stony ground

i) Did not have much earth

ii) They immediately sprang up

iii) The sun scorched the young plant

c) Thorny ground

i) The thorns grew up

ii) They choked the good seeds

d) Good ground

i) Thirty-fold yield

ii) Sixty-fold yield

iii) Hundredfold yield

4. Explanation of the Parable of the Sower

a) Wayside

i) The seed is the Word of God

ii) The wicked one comes and he snatches the Word away

b) Stony ground

i) The word is received with joy                             Matthew 13:20

ii) No roots and endures only for a while         Matthew 13:21

iii) Under persecution, he stumbles                   Matthew 13:21

c) Thorny ground

i) The cares of the world                                                Matthew 13:22

ii) The deceitfulness of riches choke the word     Matthew 13:22
