Exodus

Exodus
Day
Day 27

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12

Text: Exodus 3 : 19-20

RESISTANCE TO BE EXPECTED

Moses must not think for a moment that the work of delivering the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt would be an easy task. As may be expected, the Pharaoh would resist Moses with all his might.

“But I am sure that the king of Egypt
will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty hand.”
EXODUS 3:19

A powerful faith and a well-fortified spirit would be necessary if Moses were to engage the Pharaoh.

THE ALMIGHTY HAND OF GOD

Moses may or may not have had the insight of the Apostle Paul when he wrote about spiritual warfare. Nevertheless, God wanted Moses to understand that He would be personally involved in this great work of delivering the children of Israel from the Pharaoh.

“So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt
with all My wonders which I will do in its midst;
and after that, he will let you go.”
EXODUS 3:20

“I will stretch out My hand…”

Moses may have been chosen as the leader who would lead the children out of the land of Egypt. However, the Real Power would be the Lord’s! This fact must be established.

“With all My wonders…”

God revealed the fact that He would have to resort to employing “wonders” (supernatural feats) to coerce Pharaoh to acknowledge Him as the Living God of the Hebrews!

“And strike Egypt…”

The Lord was going to punish Egypt for its many sins, the most heinous of which was to cruelly force the children of Israel to serve as slaves! Then there was the slaughter of innocent baby boys! How many had died because of the wicked abuse of powers by the Pharaoh? He had reigned as if he had supreme power! He would realize soon that human power cannot be compared with Divine Power.

“And after that, he will let you go”

There will be a struggle. That is to be expected! But the outcome of the battle was already ascertained. Pharaoh will lose the battle. He would let the children of Israel go! He would have no choice at all, after he saw what God would do the land of Egypt! Who could resist the Almighty Hand of God?
