Day 145

"I made you thrive like a plant in the field"

Text: Ezekiel 16:7

HELPING ISRAEL IN THE EARLY DAYS

The Lord gave a very different perspective of Israel in this text. Israel was a struggling infant. The period we read about may well be in the days of the Judges. Survival was not very certain. There were so many enemies and without the Lord’s mercy, Israel would have died.

“And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood,
I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’
Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’
I made you thrive like a plant in the field;
and you grew, matured, and became very beautiful.
Your breasts were formed, your hair grew,
but you were naked and bare.”
Ezekiel 16:6-7
