"A beautiful crown on your head"

Text: Ezekiel 16:12

ADORNMENT FROM THE LORD

Adornment from the Lord was a special blessing from the Lord. The basics had been provided for Israel. Adornment speaks of going beyond basic provision.

“I adorned you with ornaments,
put bracelets on your wrists, and a chain on your neck.
And I put a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears,
and a beautiful crown on your head.”
Ezekiel 16:11-12

1. A short list of things God adorned Israel with:

a) Ornaments

b) Bracelets

c) A chain on the neck (necklace)

d) A jewel in the nose

e) Earrings

f) A crown on the head

2. What do these things mean?

a) God would provide beyond basics.

b) These things would make Israel:

i) Beautiful

ii) Outstanding

c) God would cause Israel to be more than an ordinary nation.

d) Israel would be covered with special glory.
That would reflect God’s great blessings on the nation.

THE GLORY OF ISRAEL

1. This was given to reflect

a) God’s grace and mercy.

b) God’s love for His people.

2. Israel’s part:

a) To be grateful.

b) To be faithful.
