"My eye will not spare you"

Text: Ezekiel 7:4

THE PRESUMPTION OF JUDAH

Israel, the Northern Kingdom rejected the LORD and chose to worship idols and pursued the path of wickedness. It suffered the wrath of God and Israel was destroyed in 722 BC by the Assyrians.

Judah, the Southern Kingdom presumed that it was better as a nation. But Judah’s kings had also forsaken God and had chosen the path of evil too. The presumption of Judah that the temple was in Jerusalem and thus God would also protect His house there. Judah was seriously mistaken!

“Now the end has come upon you,
And I will send My anger against you;
I will judge you according to your ways,
And I will repay you for all your abominations.
My eye will not spare you,
Nor will I have pity;
But I will repay your ways,
And your abominations will be in your midst;
Then you shall know that I am the Lord!”
