"Creation itself also will be delivered..."

Text: Romans 8:21

LOOKING FOR DELIVERANCE

It is natural to look for divine deliverance when we are at the end of our tethers. The Apostle Paul made an important observation concerning this matter.

“Because the creation itself also will be delivered
from the bondage of corruption into the glorious
liberty of the children of God.”
Romans 8:21

1. “The bondage of corruption”

a) Corruption may be found all over the world.

b) No country is spared from the problem of corruption.

i) Sometimes the corruption level is so high it becomes scandalous.

ii) But even if the corruption level is not high enough to trigger public outcry, it still exists.

c) Corruption makes slaves of people.

i) It is so strong it makes people come under bondage.

ii) The desire to be freed from bondage is understandably high.

2. “Creation itself also will be delivered”

a) This is “the hope”.

b) That God will deliver creation from the bondage of corruption.

c) This is something we can identify with easily.

3. “Into the glorious liberty of the children of God”

a) Liberty is well-described as “glorious”.

b) There is within “liberty” that only those who have been liberated will comprehend fully.

i) Elation

ii) Joy

iii) Gratitude

4. “Of the children of God”

a) We have wonderful liberty in our salvation in Christ Jesus (Galatians 5:1).

b) In this realm of liberty, there is no class distinction among the children of God.

c) There is glorious freedom to be found in the kingdom of God.

d) The role of the Holy Spirit must be recognized and acknowledged.

It is He through whom we are able to comprehend and appropriate these wonderful truths!
