"All things work together for good to those who love God..."

Text: Romans 8:28

A GLORIOUS TRUTH

The salvation plan that God devised is truly glorious. The following text covers many wonderful features of our salvation.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew,
He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son,
that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called;
whom He called, these He also justified;
and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
Romans 8:28-30

1. A brief mention

a) There is a brief mention of the Lord Jesus – “image of His Son”.

b) He will be honoured as “the firstborn”.

2. “No mention”

a) Of the Holy Spirit.

b) His role has already been established (in other portions of the Scripture).

c) The focus here is on the profound plan of God’s salvation.

3. The focus is on the Lord God and His part in salvation

a) Foreknowledge

b) Predestination

c) Calling

d) Justification

e) Glorification

4. Our part

a) To ensure that we know and appreciate our salvation.

b) To love the Lord our God for all He has planned and done for us.

c) To respond appropriately to God’s purposeful calling.

d) To trust that all things work together for good.

e) To appreciate the enlightenment that the Holy Spirit gives to us.

f) To work at compliance and conformity to the image of God’s only begotten Son.
