Day 171

"Behold, this is our God"

Text: Isaiah 25:9

RETURNING TO FAITH IN GOD

This prophecy has to do with Israel returning to the LORD one day. When that would occur is not revealed to us.

“And it will be said in that day:
‘Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the LORD;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.’
For on this mountain the hand of the LORD will rest,
And Moab shall be trampled down under Him,
As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.”
Isaiah 25:9-10

1. Israel would once again relate to God.

a) It will declare its faith in God.
“Behold, this is our God”

i) It is a cry of hope.

ii) It is also a cry of joy and victory.

iii) The trust of the faithful would not be in vain.

b) This declaration would be uttered by the faithful.

i) They had believed in God.

ii) They had also waited upon Him.

iii) They had trusted that God would save them.

iv) There is gladness and joy in His salvation (deliverance).

2. The victory that God would bring about.

a) It would come about when God’s hand is resting on Mount Zion.

b) Moab was singled out.

i) Moab is named as one of the nations that God would judge and destroy.

ii) The implication is that all nations that have harassed Israel
would be summarily dealt with.

c) As straw is trampled before it is sent to the refuse heap,
so would enemy nations be trampled and be cast out.
