"Israel shall blossom and bud"

Text: Isaiah 27:6

THE PROMISE OF BLESSING

The LORD gave a wonderful promise of blessing to those whom He would bring back to Israel. This was their “second chance” as a nation to succeed!

“Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob;
Israel shall blossom and bud,
And fill the face of the world with fruit.
Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him?
Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?”
Isaiah 27:6-7

1. “Those who come”

a) This is a reference to those who would return to Israel.

b) What it would take to return to their country.

to be rooted when they returned to Israel.

3. Blossoming again.

a) Israel would have deep roots.

b) It would bud and blossom with the blessing of the LORD.

c) The nation would be wonderfully fruitful on a global scale.

4. Coming to terms with God chastening Israel.

a) Yes, God did strike Israel.

b) But this was for chastening purposes.

c) God did not strike Israel as He did other nations!

d) There was total destruction of many wicked and proud nations.

i) Edom

ii) Ammon

iii) Moab

e) These were slain and they would never become a nation again!
