"The hand of the LORD has done this"

Text: Isaiah 41:20

THE UNMISTAKABLE HAND OF THE LORD

How can Israel be sure of the promises of God? The LORD gave a special word of encouragement as to what He will do for Israel. The work of His hand would be unmistakable.

“I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree,
The myrtle and the oil tree;
I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine
And the box tree together,
That they may see and know,
And consider and understand together,
That the hand of the LORD has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Isaiah 41:19-20

1. Israel a wilderness.

a) This happens because of the aftermath of war.

b) The country would be severely ravaged.

c) It will become like a wilderness.

2. The Re-building Program.

a) The LORD gave to Israel His plan to rebuild the country.

b) The Planting of trees will be done.

i) The cedar tree.

ii) The acacia tree.

iii) The myrtle tree.

iv) The oil tree.

v) The cypress tree.

vi) The pine tree.

vii) The box tree.

c) The restoration of the land.

i) It will take time.

ii) It will take perseverance.

iii) It will take the hand of God to bless the restoration process.

3. The hand of the LORD

a) As the work of restoration commences.

b) As the rebuilding of the nation takes place.

c) All will be able to see:

i) The hand of the LORD at work.

ii) The Holy One of Israel Himself has created this new restorative work.
