"I have inscribed you on the palms of My hand"

Text: Isaiah 49:16

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Israel struggled with the problems of the aftermath of war. The walls of their cities were destroyed. Many were exiled. The future seemed very bleak!

“‘See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
Your sons shall make haste;
Your destroyers and those who laid you waste
Shall go away from you.
Lift up your eyes, look around and see;
All these gather together and come to you.
As I live,’ says the LORD,
‘You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament,
And bind them on you as a bride does.'”
Isaiah 49:16-18

a) That there were enemies cannot be denied.

b) But the LORD would deal with the wicked enemies.

5. What the LORD would do.

a) The enemies would no longer be a threat.

b) They would be removed.

c) The LORD would gather support for His children.

iii) They would provide for all the needs of the bride.

iv) There would be no lack of provision from the LORD.
