"Their works are works of iniquity"

Text: Isaiah 59:6

AWARENESS OF EVIL

The LORD was aware of the evil perpetrated by the wicked. These were highlighted to make the nation aware of the problems at hand.

“Their webs will not become garments,
Nor will they cover themselves with their works;
Their works are works of iniquity,
And the act of violence is in their hands.
Their feet run to evil,
And they make haste to shed innocent blood;
Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity;
Wasting and destruction are in their paths.
The way of peace they have not known,
And there is no justice in their ways;
They have made themselves crooked paths;
Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.”
Isaiah 59:6-8

1. Works of the wicked.

a) They are deceptive webs that will not keep anyone warm.

b) Their wicked works are like covers.

i) But they are full of iniquity.

ii) They are also associated with violence.

2. Evil deeds.

a) The wicked run to do evil instead of running away.

b) They hasten to shed blood.

c) Their thoughts are tainted with iniquity.

d) They cause destruction in their paths.

e) Israel must be forewarned.

3. Peace and Justice.

a) They know nothing about peace.

b) They do not uphold justice.

c) Their paths are crooked.

d) Those who follow them would never find peace.
