"The work of My hands"

Text: Isaiah 60:21

THE PLAN OF GOD TO BLESS ISRAEL

The LORD was determined to bless the descendants of Abraham. The nation of Israel may look forward to God’s hand of blessing!

“Also your people shall all be righteous;
They shall inherit the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.
A little one shall become a thousand,
And a small one a strong nation.
I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.”
Isaiah 60:21-22

1. The people

a) They will no longer pursue the path of wickedness.

b) The people would be characterized by righteousness.

c) They will inherit the Land that God had promised to give to Abraham.

2. The new work of God.

a) Israel would be planted by the LORD.

b) It would be simply called “a branch”.

c) This would be a special work of the LORD.

d) He will be glorified in this special work that He will create.

3. The oft-neglected ones.

a) They are called “little ones”.

i) They do not appear to be significant.

ii) They may even seem to be limited.

b) But the little one would become a thousand.

i) There would be spectacular growth.

ii) There would be special blessings from God to achieve great things.

c) The small one.

i) Another description of those who are not naturally outstanding.

ii) God would bless the small one till he becomes a nation!

4. A solemn promise from God.

a) He will bring to pass all that He had promised.

b) He will not delay to fulfil what He had declared.

c) In fact, He would hasten things so that the fruition would come soon.
