"I am with you to save you and deliver you"

Text: Jeremiah 15:20

GOD’S RESPONSE TO JEREMIAH’S PRAYER II

God knew the true state of Jeremiah’s faith. This servant of His was not very strong or steadfast. He repeated what He said to Jeremiah when He called him to be a prophet (Jeremiah 1:18).

“‘And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall;
And they will fight against you,
But they shall not prevail against you;
For I am with you to save you
And deliver you,’ says the LORD.
‘I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked,
And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.'”
Jeremiah 15:20-21

1. What God would do for Jeremiah

i) The king
ii) The false prophets

iv) People who were not happy with his messages.
v) They were indeed “wicked” and “terrible” (Jeremiah 15:21).

3. The promises of God reiterated

a) These promises were given earlier (Jeremiah 1:19).
b) God assured Jeremiah as to what He would do:
i) The enemies will not prevail.
ii) God will be with him.
iii) He will save and deliver him.
iv) He will redeem Jeremiah from whatever situation he may be in!

4. Jeremiah’s part

a) To return to God.
b) To be fully restored.
c) To resume ministry with fresh strength and vigour.
