"I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of peace and truth"

Text: Jeremiah 33:6

THE PLANS OF GOD FOR ISRAEL REVEALED I

The LORD went on to reveal His plans for Israel after the Babylonian captivity to Jeremiah. These were “great and mighty things” that God would do for His people!

“Behold, I will bring it health and healing;
I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return,
and will rebuild those places as at the first.”
Jeremiah 33:6-7

1. “Behold, I will bring it health and healing;
I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth”

a) In the present time (in the days of Jeremiah) the nation of Judah was:

i) Sinful

ii) Wicked

iii) Weak

b) What God would do:

i) He would bring health back to them.

ii) He would heal the nation of its many woes brought on because of sin.

iii) He would then reveal what it means
to have an abundance of peace and truth.

iv) The nation had not known peace for a long time.

v) It had also not known truth for a great while.

vi) There were so many false prophets and priests who were teaching falsely.

2. “And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return,
and will rebuild those places as at the first”

a) Israel was destroyed by the Assyrians in 722 BC.

b) Judah was being destroyed by the Babylonians.

c) Judah would be sent into captivity.

d) But they would be brought back to Israel after 70 years of Captivity in Babylon.

e) This was an amazing prophecy!
