Day 17

"Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied..."

Text: Jude 14

GODLY ENOCH

One of the more outstanding godly men recorded in the Scriptures was a man called Enoch. The Scriptures accord to Enoch this fitting tribute.

“Enoch…walked with God three hundred years…
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”

Genesis 5:22, 24

THE APOCRYPHAL BOOK OF ENOCH

Jude wrote a word that suggested that he and his readers were aware of an apocryphal book of Enoch. (This is not part of the canonical Scriptures.)

“Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam,
prophesied about these men also, saying,
‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints.'”
