Text: Exodus 11: 1-3
MEDITATION
Exodus 11:1-3
1 And the LORD said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out of here altogether.
2 Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.”
3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The LORD’s instructions to Moses
a. He will bring one more plague.
i. It will affect the Pharaoh himself.
ii. It will affect Egypt.
b. After this plague:
i. The Pharaoh will let the children of Israel go from the land of Egypt.
ii. In fact, he will drive the children of Israel out of his country.
iii. He will not be offering any more compromises.
2. The children of Israel may speak to their Egyptian “neighbours”
a. These neighbours may be their employers.
b. They may have been their supervisors.
3. What they may ask from their neighbours
a. They may ask for articles of silver.
b. They may ask for articles of gold.
c. They could ask for other things as well (not mentioned in this short word..
4. God’s work on the hearts of the Egyptians
a. The children of Israel found favour from the Egyptians.
b. They were no longer treated with disrespect and cruelty.
5. The standing of Moses
a. He was regarded very highly in the land of Egypt.
b. The servants of Pharaoh respected him greatly.
c. The general opinion of Moses was very strong and reputable.

1耶和华对摩西说:“我再使一样的灾殃临到法老和埃及,然后他必容你们离开这地。他容你们去的时候,总要催逼你们都从这地出去。
2你要传于百姓的耳中,叫他们男女各人向邻舍要金器银器。”3耶和华叫百姓在埃及人眼前蒙恩,并且摩西在埃及地、法老臣仆和百姓的眼中看为极大。
