Text: Exodus 25:1-7
MEDITATION
Exodus 25:1-7
1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.
3 And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze;
4 blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair;
5 ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood;
6 oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense;
7 onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The LORD’s instruction to Moses
a. Moses was to speak to the children of Israel.
b. They were to be instructed to bring an offering to be given to God.
c. Each offering must be:
i. Given from the heart.
ii. Given willingly.
d. This was to be understood as “My (God’s) offering” (Exodus 25:2).
2. The offerings to be given to the LORD
a. Precious and semi-precious metals and stones:
i. Gold
ii. Silver
iii. Bronze
iv. Onyx and other stones
b. Different types of cloth and threads.
c. Different types of skin.
d. Wood (acacia)
e. Oil for the lamps.
f. Spices for the anointing oil.
3. These offerings
a. They were to be made known.
b. They were to be collected.
How they were to be used would be made known later.

5 染红的公羊皮,海狗皮,皂荚木,
6 点灯的油并做膏油和香的香料,7 红玛瑙与别样的宝石,可以镶嵌在以弗得和胸牌上。
