Text: Exodus 34: 7

MEDITATION

Exodus 34:7

7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. The Attributes of the LORD God

a. These must be carefully understood.

b. A proper understanding would lead us to:

i. Revere God.

ii. This is often called “The fear of the Lord”.

iii. There should always be a holy regard for God.

2. The Appropriate Actions of God must also be carefully noted

a. Mercy

i. God will show mercy.

ii. Because He is essentially merciful.

b. Keeping mercy for thousands

i. God’s mercy is limitless.

ii. His store of mercy is not exhausted though He shows mercy to thousands.

c. Forgiveness

i. For iniquity (evil, wickedness)

ii. For transgression (the breaking of God’s laws)

iii. For sin (when we fail to do what God commands)

3. The unrepentant guilty

a. There are those who would not repent.

b. They are not sorry for their sins.

c. God will have to judge them.

i. The guilty will not be cleared of their sins.

ii. Their sins remain unforgiven.

d. The iniquity

i. The evil of their ways.

ii. The wickedness of the people.

iii. Their sinful deeds.

iv. These will have a severe impact on their children.

v. The impact of iniquity can even reach to the third or fourth generation.

Sin, transgression and iniquity are not to be taken lightly. Thank God that He is merciful and gracious. He can and will forgive all our sins if we repent and seek His forgiveness!

7为千万人存留慈爱，赦免罪孽、过犯和罪恶；万不以有罪的为无罪，必追讨他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代。”

在生活里有意义地应用

1. 上帝的属性

a. 这些必须很仔细地理解

b. 正确的理解会使到我们：

i. 尊敬上帝

ii. 这通常被称为“敬畏上帝”

iii. 应当保持对上帝神圣的敬意

2. 要仔细注意上帝合理的行为

a. 怜悯

i. 上帝会显示怜悯

ii. 因为祂本质是仁慈的

b. 怜悯千万人

i. 上帝的怜悯是无限的

ii. 祂的怜悯不会因给了千万人而耗尽

c. 赦免

i. 罪孽（邪恶）

ii. 过犯（不守上帝的律）

iii. 罪恶（不做上帝所指示的）

3. 不悔改的罪人

a. 有些人不知悔改

b. 他们不为所犯的罪而感到愧疚

c. 上帝必须审判他们

i. 不以有罪的当为无罪

ii. 他们的罪并未得赦免

d. 罪孽

i. 他们邪恶的行为

ii. 人性的邪恶

iii. 他们的罪

iv. 这些都会严重的影响他们的孩子

v. 罪孽的影响可以影响到三四代

我们不可以轻视罪恶，过犯和罪孽。感谢上帝祂是怜悯和有恩典的。祂可以，也会赦免我们的罪，只要我们悔改，并且请求祂的赦免！
