Text: Exodus 6: 1-3
MEDITATION
Exodus 6:1-3
1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
2 And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the LORD.
3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The Context must be remembered
a. Pharaoh had become harsher towards the children of Israel.
b. The children of Israel were bitter, angry and upset with Moses.
c. Moses was also just as upset as he spoke to God in prayer (Exodus 5).
2. Important word of instruction from God to Moses
a. Reiteration of what God would do.
i. God would cause the Pharaoh to release the children of Israel.
ii. He will “with a strong hand” drive the children of Israel out of Egypt.
b. An important reminder as to who God is.
i. He is the LORD.
ii. He had appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
iii. He revealed Himself as “God Almighty”.
c. The name “LORD”
i. God was not known by this name to their forefathers.
ii. He would now help the children of Israel know Him as the “LORD”.
3. Significance of this new name
a. The children of Israel must find their own faith in God as their forefathers did.
b. They must establish their knowledge and trust in God as the LORD.

1.必须记得事情的景况
a.法老更加苛刻地对待以色列人
b.以色列人对摩西感到仇恨、愤怒和懊恼
c.当摩西向上帝祈祷时, 他也感到同样懊恼《出埃及记 5》

a 重申上帝会行的事
i.祂会令法老释放以色列人
ii.祂会以“大能的手”把以色列人赶出埃及
