Text: Exodus 39: 1-7

MEDITATION

Exodus 39:1-7

1 Of the blue, purple, and scarlet thread they made garments of ministry, for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
2 He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and of fine woven linen.
3 And they beat the gold into thin sheets and cut it into threads, to work it in with the blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and the fine linen, into artistic designs.
4 They made shoulder straps for it to couple it together; it was coupled together at its two edges.
5 And the intricately woven band of his ephod that was on it was of the same workmanship, woven of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and of fine woven linen, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
6 And they set onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold; they were engraved, as signets are engraved, with the names of the sons of Israel.
7 He put them on the shoulders of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. Holy garments of ministry

a. They were for all the priests.
b. They were for ministry in the Holy Place (Tabernacle).
c. Of special attention were the garments for the High Priest.

2. “He” and “They”

a. Bezalel was personally involved.
b. There were others who helped.
i. Aholiab was noted as a weaver.
ii. There must have been others who were skilled too.

3. Description of the holy garments (Exodus 28)

4. These were being made according to specifications (Exodus 39:1-7)

a. The Ephod
b. The Breastplate with the Memorial Stones

5. Important comments

a. “Intricately woven”
b. “Same workmanship” (Exodus 39:5)

《出埃及记 39:1-7》
1比撒列用蓝色、紫色、朱红色线做精致的衣服，在圣所用以供职，又为亚伦做圣衣，是照耶和华所吩咐摩西的。
2他用金线和蓝色、紫色、朱红色线并捻的细麻做以弗得。
3把金子锤成薄片，剪出线来，与蓝色、紫色、朱红色线，用巧匠的手工一同绣上。
4又为以弗得做两条相连的肩带，接连在以弗得的两头。
5其上巧工织的带子和以弗得一样的做法，用以束上，与以弗得接连一块，是用金线和蓝色、紫色、朱红色线并捻的细麻做的，是照耶和华所吩咐摩西的。
6又琢出两块红玛瑙，镶在金槽上，仿佛刻图书，按着以色列儿子的名字雕刻，

7将这两块宝石安在以弗得的两条肩带上，为以色列人做纪念石，是照耶和华所吩咐摩西的。

在生活里有意义地应用

1. 圣衣的职事

a. 这是为所有祭司而做的
b. 这是为了他们在圣所（帐幕）供职
c.大祭司的圣衣必须更加仔细地准备

a. 比撒列亲自参与了这工作
b. 其中也有其他的帮手
