MEDITATION
Genesis 14:18-20
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
19 And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Melchizedek
a. He was the king of Salem.
i. Salem means “peace”.
ii. He was “King of peace”.
b. He was also a priest of God.
i. Many called the Lord, “God Most High”.
ii. This was an appropriate title for God.
2. He went to meet Abram after his victory over Chedorlaomer
a. He brought “bread and wine” for worship and fellowship with Abram.
b. He gave Abram a blessing from God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth.
c. Abram’s victory over a much larger army could not have been possible without God’s help.
d. Abram was reminded of this fact.
3. Abram recognized this truth
He offered an offering (a tithe) to Melchizedek whom he recognized as a king and priest of God Most High!

19他为亚伯兰祝福,说:“愿天地的主、至高的神赐福于亚伯兰!20至高的神把敌人交在你手里,是应当称颂的!”亚伯兰就把所得的拿出十分之一来,给麦基洗德。
