Text: Luke 12: 6-7
THE FEAR OF THE RELIGIOUS AUTHORITIES
1. The Lord Jesus was well aware that many feared the Sanhedrin Council.
a. They exercised great authority as religious leaders.
b. They used every means available to control people.
i. Threats
ii. Jail
iii. Beating
iv. Death by stoning
c. The Book of Acts describes how the Council abused their authority (Acts 3-4, 7, 9).
2. Assurance that we are worth more than sparrows.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.”
Luke 12:6
a. Sparrows were common birds.
i. They were the food of the very poor.
ii. One can buy 5 sparrows for two copper coins.
b. Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by God!
c. If God cares for sparrows, would He not care even more for His children?
3. Assurance that God knows every detail about us.
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Luke 12:7
a. How many hairs do we have? We may not know, but God does!
b. We must not allow ourselves to become fearful of anyone or anything!
c. We are of far more value than many sparrows!

《路加福音 12:6》
a.麻雀是常见的乌类
i.它们是穷人的食物
ii.二分银子可以买到五个麻雀
b.然而,没有一只麻雀被上帝遗忘!
c.上帝若关心麻雀,岂不更关心祂的儿女吗?
3.确信上帝知道我们的每一个细节
“就是你们的头发,也都被数过了。不要惧怕,你们比许多麻雀还贵重。”
